in order to understand the differences between an ocean and a sea, we must know the definition of both. you can not explain something if you do not have a base, or the facts. Ocean: (noun) An ocean is a vast water of salty water that shelters almost 70 percent of the total earth's surface. Sea: (noun) sea is a large body of saline water that occupies a greater part of the world's surface but is smaller than an ocean. main points: Depth: The comparison by depth shows that oceans are much deeper as compared to seas because land usually encloses the seawaters. Area: Oceans are the most prominent water bodies on planet earth with an average total area of 361,900,000 square kilometers. The largest ocean is the Pacific Ocean which covers an area of 60,060,700 square miles. On the other hand, the largest sea, which is the Mediterranean Sea has an area of 1,144,800 square miles, a smaller area than that of the smallest ocean (Arctic Ocean is estimated to cover an area of 5,427,000 square miles). Thus, this variation in the area indicates that seas are smaller than oceans. marine life: The plants and animals that exist in salty waters (oceans and seas) are the ones that make up marine life. The distance from the shore of the ocean or sea and their depths intensely impact the quantity and biodiversity of aquatic plants and sea creatures that exist here. i feel that marine life would live better in the ocean thus there is more area and depth giving more room for marine life. In conclusion, the essential difference between oceans and seas is that oceans are massive saline water bodies that exist on the Earth's surface while seas are vast saline waters that are either connected or not connected to the ocean. The terms oceans and seas are often used interchangeably since they almost mean the same thing. It is, therefore, necessary to note these differences while talking about seas and oceans. -Mary Randall.

![]() in book four of the Odessey. Helen is talking of Odysseus's plane to get inside the walls of troy. (to win the war) his idea was to build a hollow wooden horse and he and his best men would get inside of it roll it to the gates of Troy, and get them to bring it in. they knocked on the entrance of troy, when the Trojan's opened the gates, they saw the horse and thought it was a trophy, and brought it into the city walls. when night fell they would arise out of the wooden horse and essentially eliminate everybody and win the war. It took about three days to build the enormous horse. "do you think that Odysseus cheated using his plan?" there are no rules in the war. they utilized their resources to succeed. There was once a seamstress whose name was Epimelís. She served Aphrodite the goddess of beauty. The elegant thread Epimelís used was spun from moonlight. One day, Epimelís was at her loom when Aphrodite appeared to her. “I am very pleased that I have the most magnificent seamstress in the cosmos. Tomorrow Hades and Persephone will be wed, and I want to have the most memorable and elegant robe that ever existed.” She said, and with that, she took leave to her temple. Not a moment had passed before Isorropía (the Greek goddess for poise and dignity) arrived, and said.“I require a fair robe. You will spin the light of the sun into a grand gown, richer than even Aphrodite’s garments.” Epimelís graciously refused, for she felt she could not betray her mistress. No sooner had the words left her mouth that Isorropía spoke again saying. "I order you to do as I say, or I will deliver you to Talaiporía (the God of misery and suffering) Epimelís hesitated, then accepted for she knew that Isorropía was not known to be gracious. Than Isorropía was gone. Epimelís got to work and was soon done. Sunshine was more of a burden than moonlight but was still manageable. when they arrived at the wedding
did you know that we can still see stars that don't even exist?! its really cool! see, the stars are so many light years away. that when they stop shining we can still see them for many years! sooooo cool! the whole sky of stars could be gone, but we can still see they're light.
i think that something that would make me afraid of stars would be that they are sooooo big! its scary to think that you are sooo small! compered to the stars you are like speak of dust. Siderophobia: fear of stars.
people who had siderophbia would go into they're house at night and lock they're doors, close they're windows etc. and hide tell they fell asleep/tell it was morning. if they saw the stars/the moon they would faint or have a panic attack. another thing that i think would make them afraid of the stars would be the fact that they did not know anything about them! they did not want to accept the fact that they where clueless. they did not have the technology that we have these days, so they had no way of knowing the facts we do now. i think that if i had to look at something ever single day and could never figure out what it was, i would be afraid of it too. |
