When I looked up incas doing brain surgery this is what I found: "Inca surgeons in ancient Peru commonly and successfully removed small portions of patients' skulls to treat head injuries, according to a new study. The surgical procedure—known as trepanation—was most often performed on adult men, likely to treat injuries suffered during combat, researchers say." CRAZY! I think that is so cool! I think that just shows that everyone has the capability to do amazing things. It isn't limited to where you live or when you live. I mean, it certainty it helps when you have the technology of today, but our minds are SO POWERFUL! We have so much potential! The picture that I put is a picture of a skull that had trepanation done to it. People actually survived!

I really admire her willingness to follow god and do what he asks of her. I love that she isn't trying to change the world or save everyone. She knows that is Jesus's job. She is just doing what she feel is what god needs her to do. I think my favorite part is when she adopts her girls and how open they are to adding to there family. I LOVE the part when she says, "How could I say argue with a little girl who knew what it was not to have a loving home and who wanted to share hers with others in need?" To me, that just shows shows selfless love both from Katie and from her girls.
I think we can learn about being loyal to your friends, even when they are stupid and make bad decisions sometimes. Badger, Ratty, and Mole all were still loyal to Toad even after he had been in jail! To me that shows real loyalty and love. If someone showed that love and devotion to me after I had done something as stupid as steal a car, it could change my life! I think truly loving someone for who they are is a big message in this book! |
