I think that Cedric's belief in is grandfather is ABSOLUTELY a force for good! I think it is so sweet the Cedric has that much belief in his grandpa. I think Little Lord Fauntleroy teaches a really good lesson! When we only see the good in others and have full faith in them, it can really change them. We can be a force of good in the world no matter where we are or how old we are. Cedric was 7, and think about all the good he did for so many people! He changed his grandpa's life just by believing in him! I think that is so powerful!

![]() The Point of reference in the Northern Hemisphere is the Big Dipper. The Story of Science talks about being able to figure out where you are with the stars. My point of reference is probably the scriptures. I know that when I have a question or I don't know if something is true, I can go to the Book of Mormon or the Bible and it will help me with the truth.
Elizabeth Gould says:“Man is by nature a pragmatic materialist, a mechanic, a lover of gadgets and gadgetry.” I agree with that! I think we have a desire to create for a reason! I think god puts those idea's in our head. I HATE what Henry David Thoreau says in this quote. “Our inventions are wont to be pretty toys, which distract our attention from serious things. They are but improved means to unimproved end.” He is basically saying that inventions are pointless. I don't think they are. I think they are so cool! Don't you know when you are thinking and you have a really good idea about an invention you think would be cool? If you had the mindset of Henry David Thoreau than you won't do anything about it! Think about if Thomas Edison had that mindset! We would't have the lightbulb!! That's a big deal!
Did Aristotle lead the way? He went to a good school, his teacher was very renowned, and he did really well in school! He thought some things and had ideas that led the science world for centuries! He was a world renowned scientist,( I mean in the tiny world they knew about) and he was just trying to figure out the world around him. So, do I think he led the science world? Yes. I think he did. But, that doesn't mean I think he did a good job. When he put an idea out there, I bet people were like, "Hey! This guy Aristotle had this idea about the universe! He was well educated and he was Plato's student, I think I believe him!" I don't blame them! I am sure they were trying to figure out what to believe themselves! But it really blocked real scientific growth from happening because when a different scientist would figure something out about the universe that didn't go along with what Aristotle said then they would totally reject the idea and not believe him. Here is an example: Aristarchus was a scientist that lived about a century after Aristotle. Aristarchus was a brilliant guy that figured out that the earth revolved around the sun!! He also said that the sun was bigger than the earth! He also said that the moon was about one third the size of the sun! But, of course that is not what the great Aristotle said. It can't be true! But is was!!!!!!! He was mostly right about those things! It took 1,700 years for people to come to there senses and realize that Aristotle was wrong! So, I think that Aristotle did lead the universe, but I think that is was unfortunate that he did because it blinded the science world for centuries. Aristarchus view of the universe ^^
I would definitely choose watercolor! I love the way watercolor looks! I love to paint with it! I would paint a temple. That shows me what the most important thing is in my life which is coming closer to Jesus.
What is the difference between the ocean and the sea? First off, the ocean and the sea are NOT the same thing. The ocean is bigger and makes up most of the world, but the sea is a smaller body of water. I mean, the sea is still pretty big, but the ocean is (way) bigger. The sea is mostly surrounded by land, but the ocean isn't. The sea and the ocean can touch, but the sea is the part that is mostly surrounded by land. One pretty obvious way to tell the difference is by the name; the Pacific ocean, Mediterranean sea, Atlantic Ocean, Black sea. If you look on a world map, the smaller bodies of water are the ones that are called seas. Look on the map that is on this post and find the oceans and the seas. You will find that the seas are smaller and are more covered by land than the ocean.
On page 60 the book talks about Odysseus sneaking into troy by dressing up as a household slave so that no one would recognize him. I do not think that is cheating. How would that be? Is is possible to cheat in a war? Are there any rules? I don't know of any. If there are, I want to see a rule book ;) Sneaking and dressing up to learn the enemy's plan I think is all part of war. I think it is smart! I mean, they won the war! I think that if you are going to war you better plan on sending spies to find out what the enemy is doing! If you don't, you might lose!
"Words have a longer life than deeds." Do you believe that is true?
I don't think that is necessarily true. I think it really depends on the situation. When I think of some of my memories from when I was a kid, some of them I remember what someone said and some of them I remember what someone did. I think that that different people have different affect. The two people that I thought of first are both big historical figures, but I feel that they both made a BIG, direct, impact on my life even though I have never met them. The first one is Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was the President of the United States during the civil war. Abraham Lincoln did some really important deeds in the war! He helped the Union win the civil war which was huge! He helped the slaves become free! That is a big deal! The other person that I thought of was Martin Luther King jr. His words will always be remembered here in the USA! He gave some powerful speeches, but the one I thought of was "I have a dream." That is a powerful speech! He was really gifted in speaking. Both of those people helped change history. I wouldn't any little siblings if it wasn't for them, and they are so important to me! So, I think that words and deeds are equally remembered and important. I think that it is so interesting that they thought that you luck depended on how the planets were positioned. I think that sometimes we expect our luck to be a certain way so we have that attitude. When we have a certain attitude than it is hard to see anything any other way. It also could be because sometimes at night you look up at the stars and you feel something(at least I do!) I think it is God showing us all of his wonderful creations, but if I didn't know that, I don't know what I would think! What I think they were doing was trying to come up with an explanation for the world around them.
